he Mikvah of East Denver (MOED) will be reopening on Wednesday, June 14, 2006! After nearly eleven months of being closed, due to extensive damage to its facility, the Mikvah will open its doors to the Jewish community once again. Led by its local Halachic Authority and Project Manager, Rabbi Eliyahu Stern, MOED's Board has completed the process to repair and clean the facility, so that it is once again safe to use. The facility will remain in use for the next two to three years until a new Mikvah facility can be built on a separate site.
"It's been a long, painstaking journey to reopening, but the Leyden Street facility is now ready to be used. We look forward to serving the Jewish community again, but bear in mind that this Mikvah facility has been repaired for short-term use only. We still need to raise the funds for the new Mikvah facility, and we hope everyone will participate in Raising the Roof on the most important institution in the Jewish community, the cornerstone of Jewish family life," says MOED President Ted Zvi Gelt.
Requests for women's appointments, starting with the evening of June 14, will be now be taken at 303-320-6633 (MOED). The men's Mikvah will be open on Thursday morning, June 15.
